Prof. Manish Verma attends a professional program in management, leadership in higher education at Harvard University

Prof. Manish Verma, Director –ASCO, recently participated in a professional development course at the Institute for Management and Leadership in Education (MLE) at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education from 19^th June to 1^st July 2016.

The Institute, which is part of Harvard’s Programs in Professional Education, is designed for higher education administrators and   program is aimed at preparing higher education professional in taking up a leadership role in the globalized education sector.  There were participants from all over the America and with 10 different nationalities (US, UK, Denmark, UAE, Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, Canada, France and India). During the program Presidents/Provosts/ Vice Presidents of various US universities interacted with the participants and shared their leadership lessons. Dr. Verma was the only participant from India.

Prof. Verma  said, “It was  indeed an excellent opportunity for me to meet  vice presidents, provosts and Deans from around the world and discuss current higher education environment, from strategic planning and budgeting to diversity and distance education”. The goal of the Institute for Management and Leadership in Education is to increase the quality and effectiveness of higher education leaders and their institutions.

 “This program  presented me a platform for discussing the changing landscape of global higher education today, I feel this learning will help me current and future role in the higher education”, he added.
